HomerandClaude Opus 5 a16510aba8 The interface speaks Slovak
969 strings, an instance default and a per-person choice, and no half-done corner:
the admin prose is translated too. Design and reasoning: LLeMbas.wiki/Translations.

KEYED BY THE ENGLISH SENTENCE

A missing entry renders the key, which is the English -- so an untranslated string
looks as it always did, an English instance is byte-for-byte 1.6.0, and a
half-finished catalogue is a half-translated page rather than a page of dotted key
names. The cost is that editing an English sentence orphans its translation
silently, which is what tests/test_translations.py asserts in both directions.

No gettext: .po -> .mo is a build step and this project does not have one.

A JINJA GLOBAL, AND THEREFORE A CONTEXTVAR

`t()` is a global for the reason `brand` already documents -- render() is bypassed
by 25 TemplateResponse calls and 8 get_template().render() calls, the latter being
the SSE frames, which have no Request at all. A global is bound once at import and
the language is per person, so the active language is a ContextVar set per request.

🚨 `get_current_user` had to become `async def`. FastAPI runs a sync dependency in a
threadpool, and anyio copies the context in and discards it on the way out -- so
the language was set where nothing could see it and every page rendered in the
instance's language whatever anybody had chosen, with no error anywhere.

NOT TRANSLATED, ON PURPOSE

Everything a model reads: the 60 prompt fragments, and the dates in harness.py,
schedule/runner.py and schedule/compile.py. Only `i18n.stamp` is localised, and
only where a person reads it -- with the *format* translatable as well as the
words, because "26. septembra 2026" is a different pattern rather than the same one
with different words in it. A process locale is not an option: global, not
thread-safe, two people's pages at once.

A second fragment telling models to answer in the reader's language was written
during this work and removed: `core.style` has said it since long before, and
test_an_empty_override_turns_a_fragment_off caught the duplicate.

THE BULK PASS

1213 sites wrapped by a one-off script that only touched patterns it could not
misread. It got three wrong in a way that mattered -- `t('…')` inside `attr="…"`
where the sentence held an apostrophe, closing the Jinja string and 500ing two
pages whose partials no test renders. tests/test_translations.py now compiles all
110 templates. It also wrapped the product's own name, an SSH key header, a
keystroke hint and an example URL, all taken back out: a string is not
translatable just because it is a string.

HomerandClaude Opus 5 28390095a9 A phone, and how much of this could not be used on one
The sidebar was a 280px panel laid over the page below the phone breakpoint,
opened from first paint, with the only control that closed it underneath it --
and that control existed on /chat and on none of the seven other pages carrying
a sidebar, Settings included. It starts closed at that width now, slides, dims
the page behind it, and closes by tapping beside it, by Escape, or by its own
button, which is inside the drawer where it can be reached.

Everything a finger has to hit was 36px, or 28 for renaming a chat, every action
on a message and every panel's close button. Raising --control-h under a coarse
pointer is the only fix that reaches all forty of them, which is what that token
is for. The row and message actions were also hover-only, so on a phone they did
not exist at all.

Installing: the splash and the browser chrome follow the instance's theme rather
than always being Moria's near-black; there are screenshots, so the install
offer is a dialog rather than a one-line bar; a new release no longer takes over
a page somebody is reading; the notification badge is a silhouette rather than a
grey square; and a browser rotating its own subscription no longer ends
notifications for good.

Every request now says it is happening -- nothing did before, so anything slower
than a few milliseconds looked like a click that had not registered.

A chat can be archived. The column has been filtered on in four places since
folders arrived and written by nothing, which is what made it look built.

chat.css may contain media queries. The ban protected the composer toolbar from
being "fixed" with a breakpoint; that guarantee is asserted directly now, and
the old test would have passed a version of the file that wrapped the toolbar
without one.

scripts/shoot.py is the instrument all of this was found with: it renders a page
through TestClient into a real headless browser at a real size and refuses to
run if an asset URL was left pointing at testserver.

Jaroslav BenešandClaude Opus 5 9db4e03795 Pinned models that know which side you are on
Reported: a pinned model always opened an ordinary chat, even with Agents
selected in the sidebar. They now carry `&kind=agent` with the switch -- a
preselection like `?model=` itself, so the new-chat screen still decides and
nothing is fixed until the first message is sent.

They sit above the tree the switch swaps, so this is the same shape as the New
chat button a few commits ago and gets the same treatment: their own partial,
arriving out of band. The group is rendered even when nothing is pinned,
because a block that vanished when the last model was unpinned would leave that
fragment with nowhere to land -- and htmx says nothing at all when a target is
missing, which is the silent failure this codebase keeps cataloguing.
`.nav-group--pinned:empty` stops the empty one taking room.

Chasing it turned up something else. The shortcuts came from `_chat_context`,
which only the chat pages build -- so the library, connections, settings and
folder pages carried the sidebar without them. A shortcut that is there on one
page and gone on the next. They come from `sidebar_context` now, where they
belong: it is sidebar content, and it is what the fragment route has.

Jaroslav BenešandClaude Opus 5 20040f53a8 Three things that said one thing and did another
All three shipped in the last two commits, and all three are the same kind of
mistake: an interface that looks right and is not.

The folder settings page could not be scrolled. `.main` is a flex column with
`min-height: 0`, so a `.page` dropped straight into it overflows the viewport
with nothing to scroll -- Save and Back end up below the bottom of the window,
reachable by zooming out or by dragging the prompt textarea up out of the way.
Every other page of this shape already wraps its content in `.admin-scroll`;
this one did not. The two class names that scroll are one rule in admin.css
precisely so this is a wrapper somebody forgot rather than a value they got
wrong, and now it is noted.

The project directory was a text box, on the one screen that asks for an
absolute path on another machine. It is the same button-and-hidden-field the
new-chat screen uses, wired by `[data-dir-field]` in ui.js -- scoped to that
attribute so this and the composer's own handler cannot both answer one click
and open two dialogs. The composer keeps its own because it does more: it
follows the selected profile's default directory until somebody picks their
own, which only means something while a chat is being created. With no
connection chosen it says so rather than opening onto nothing, and Clear is
always there, because browsing somewhere and changing your mind before saving
needs a way back to "no opinion" as much as clearing a saved one does.

And "New chat" did not follow the Chat/Agent switch. The button sits above the
scroll area rather than inside the tree the switch swaps, so it went on saying
"New chat" over a list of agent chats. It moves to its own partial and arrives
out of band, the way the chat title already does. Renaming it to something
neutral would have hidden the bug rather than fixed it, and would have cost the
`?kind=agent` preselection the label is there to explain.

The tests that existed asserted a page load, which re-renders the button
anyway -- which is exactly why nobody saw it. The new ones assert the fragment.
The directory field was driven under a DOM stub first.

Jaroslav BenešandClaude Opus 5 d7a614c96b Two kinds of work, and a switch to say which
The sidebar rendered an agent chat and an ordinary one identically, in one
list, so hours of machine work sat among a morning's questions. A switch
below the pinned models now shows one kind at a time, stored on the account
so it follows the reader to another browser.

Three things it does that are not the obvious version:

The switch is inside the fragment it swaps. Targeting only the tree would
leave the two buttons showing the side you had just left -- the request
works and the interface says otherwise, which is the failure this codebase
keeps cataloguing.

A folder can be emptied by the filter, or have been empty all along, and
only the first is a reason to hide it. `shown_in` is that line: a folder
somebody made a moment ago and has not filled yet stays on both sides, or
it can never be found again, let alone filed into.

With agent chats switched off there is no switch, and the sidebar goes back
to showing everything rather than to one side of a fork nobody can move.
An administrator turning the feature off would otherwise strand whoever
last left the switch on Agents in an empty sidebar with no way out.

The control reuses the composer's `.segmented`, which is the same choice in
a different place, and the verb goes on the input rather than the wrapper.
