Every tool says its `sessions` (chat, agent or both). The file tools read, write, edit, glob, grep and list are shared; mkdir, mv, rm, search, python and the forge verbs (commit, branch, pr, merge, tag, release) are the chat's; show and recall are new and shared. New fields: `requires` (page, display, forge) with the exact `unavailable` answer, and `confirm: always` for merge, tag and release. knowledge_*, notes_search, note_view and note_manage leave the chat. Default rules for the new tools; modes.json says what `confirm` does. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

"description": "Read a file or list a directory.\n\n- `path` may be absolute or relative to the working directory.\n- Returns up to 2000 lines from `offset` (1-indexed). Each line is prefixed `<n>: `; that prefix is not part of the file — never copy it into an edit.\n- For a later section, call again with a larger offset. Prefer one large read over many 30-line slices.\n- Lines over 2000 characters are cut. Use grep to find content in large files.\n- Directories come back one entry per line, subdirectories with a trailing `/`.\n- Read several files in parallel when you already know you need them.",
